ADNAN TARSHA

Karate

Shihan Adnan Tarsha started teaching Karate in Tripoli city in Lebanon in 1973 Photos. He organized several demonstrations where he presented many of his difficult and dangerous demonstrations.

He participated by teams of his students in several Arabian and international tournaments. Several newspapers and magazines made interviews with him and published about him many reports in several languages like Arabic, French, English, and Japanese.

He is now the most old Kyokushin Karate instructor in the Middle East, he hold the 8th Dan grade. He continued his training in Japan with master Oyama the founder of Kyokushin Karate, and he became the Branch Chief of International Karate Organization, also the supreme advisor of the Organization in the Middle East. In 2003 he was appointed as the Middle East Team Manager. Details

BOOKS

He wrote several Islamic books, some of them run out and reprinted second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth edition, and some of them translated to other language other than Arabic. Titles & Photos

Movie Films

He produced, acted, and directed two super 8mm movie films in 1978, 1979; that was before the creation of the Video camera. One was a Karate story and the other was a police story. The Films

In other activity he produced in 1983 two exercises programs on videotapes were by his preparing, presenting, and directing. These works were the first of this kind in the Arab countries. Report

1974

In 1974 Shihan Adnan Tarsha presented a Karate demonstration with his students in front of a huge number of people in North of Lebanon.

1975

In 1975 Shihan Adnan Tarsha organized for his students a training camp on the snow in north of Lebanon.

In 1975 he organized a festival of Karate on the biggest theatre in Tripoli and it was the first of this kind and was looked after by the governor of North of Lebanon.

In 1975 he participated by a team of four fighters of his students in Lebanon Championship which held on the theatre of UNESCO in Beirut. He was also a judge.

1976

In the beginning of 1976 Shihan Adnan Tarsha traveled to Saudi Arabia, and while his staying he had a meeting with HRH Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Bin Abdulaziz the General President of Youth Welfare.

In the same period he also had a meeting with the president of the Saudi Arabian Karate Federation Mr. Mohammad Alqellaish. After then the meetings repeated between them, and in one of the times Mr. Alqellaish invited him to join the training of the newly coming Japanese instructor to try his training. In this lesson the Japanese fought with the instructors and students, he hit them very hard to prove himself, when Adnan's turn came to fight with him, the Japanese tried his best to do the same with him, but he failed when Adnan could prove that he is a strong equal to him, so this fight made the attendants admired Adnan, and one of them was a prince who came to train with the Japanese, but what happened then; the prince quit the training with the Japanese and chosen Adnan to teach him Karate in a private lesson, then another three princes joined the lesson. This was the beginning of teaching Karate to the princes.

1977

In 1977 Shihan Adnan Tarsha started to give a private Karate lesson to four members of the Saudi Royal Family, after one of them had seen him fighting a Japanese instructor.

Since then he started to give other private Karate lessons to the other people and to the students of different private schools.

1978

In 1978 Shihan Adnan Tarsha traveled to Lebanon, during his staying in the country he gave intensive training to the Karate Students in different sport clubs. Details and photos in Camps Page

In March 1978 he participated as a judge in the black belt championship in Beirut. Details and photos in Tournaments Page

He presented a demonstration by (Nunchaku) in the black belt championship in Beirut in March 1978. After that he received a plate from the branch chief of Lebanon for his efforts in spreading Karate. Details and photos in Demonstrations Page

	In 1978 and during his staying in Lebanon he produced a short Karate movie film 8mm, the film was half hour and it is about a Karate story, he was the actor and also was the director. Details and photos in Movie Films Page

In 1978 he traveled to Greece and had a fight competition with a Navy officer from Greece. Details and photos in Camps Page

In 1978 he did a group of his dangerous and difficult Karate demonstrations on the biggest theatre in Tripoli of Lebanon. Details and photos in Demonstrations Page

1979

In 1979 Shihan Adnan Tarsha traveled to Lebanon and produced a police story film, he was the main actor and the director, and worked in several other technical works in this 8mm of 90 minutes film. The story was about an organization kidnapped two children of a member of the parliament, and he was a police agent who could at the end of the film to rescue the children.

1981

In 1981 Shihan Adnan Tarsha received an invitation to travel to Kuwait to refereeing the Kuwait University Championship which took place on 11/ 2/ 1981.

In 20/3/1981 he organized a big Karate celebration for his students, and presented a numerous of dangerous demonstrations. At the end of the demonstrations he presented the certificates to his students.

In 1981 he participated by his team in the 6th Saudi Arabia Karate Championship which took place in Riyadh on 23/4/1981.

In 1981 he started a private Karate lesson which he was traveling weekly from Riyadh to give it to HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Sattam Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Alkhobar city in the East of Saudi Arabia where the prince was studying in the university. The lesson continued for several years till the prince graduated from the university and continued his training in Riyadh. The prince is consider one of the biggest supporters for the activities of his instructor and for Kyokushin Karate style in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In 1981 he received an invitation to travel to Kuwait to refereeing the championship of Kuwait which took place in 24/12/1981.

1982

In 1982 Shihan Adnan Tarsha participated by his team in the 7th Saudi Arabia Karate Championship which took place in Riyadh on April 4, 1982. Details and photos in Tournaments Page

In 1982 he traveled to Japan to take intensive Karate training for a month with the founder of Kyokushin Karate Master Oyama who received him in a very big welcome demonstration in Tokyo. The special demonstration was on his honor on the occasion of his coming to Japan. Details and photos in Demonstrations Page

	He stayed more than a month in training with Sosai Oyama who also ordered Senpai Matsui, the classmate of Adnan Tarsha in the same class of Sosai Oyama, to train with Tarsha alone in a private class in addition to the class were both of them training with him. Sosai Oyama presented Matsui to Tarsha as the best technician and Japan Champion, and will be the world champion. Indeed he became the world champion after five years, and also became the successor of Oyama after his death and the director (Kancho) of International Karate Organization. During his staying in Japan Oyama invited him to a theatre to watch the play of the famous Japanese actors: Sonny Chiba and Sanada Masahiro. after the play there was a meeting with these actors. Details and photos in Various Activities

Before his leaving Tokyo Oyama made a valediction party on his honor and he received several gifts from Oyama. several press magazines wrote reports about his trip to Japan in several languages like Arabic, English and Japanese. Details and photos in Various Activities

1983

	In 1983 Shihan Adnan Tarsha's successful Karate picture selected to publish on a complete page for the year of 1983 calendar of International Karate Organization, which distribute on the branches of the organization in the world.

In the same year and after his coming back from Japan he had a meeting with HRH Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Bin Abdulaziz the General President of Youth Welfare, and presented to him the gifts which he brought them especially for him. Details and photos in Camps Page

	In 1983 he produced the first two programs of this kind in the Arab world on the videotapes. Both programs were by his preparing, presenting and directing. The title of these programs are: Exercises for Everyone. Exercises for Pregnant. Each one enclosed with an explaining book wrote by him. 1984

	In 1984 Shihan Adnan Tarsha traveled to Japan to attend the third world Karate tournament as a special guest by the official invitation from master Oyama. He has been called to go on the ring and then Oyama presented to him a plate in appreciation for his presence at this world tournament. Details and photos in Tournaments Page

1987

In 1987 Shihan Adnan Tarsha traveled to Japan to attend the 4th World Karate Tournament as a special guest by an invitation from master Oyama. He also participated in the international meeting of the branches chiefs from all over the world.

In 1987 he has been invited to be a guest in the English program "Islam in Perspective" in channel 2 of Saudi TV to explain the physical benefits of the prayer and pilgrimage.

1988

In 1988 the channel 1 in the Saudi television started broadcasting Shihan Adnan Tarsha's exercises program (Come and Train) which was prepared and presented by him. This program was the first of this kind in the Saudi television, and the viewers inside and outside of Saudi Arabia were following his program and doing the exercises with him through the screen every Thursday morning. The newspapers were writing about it and confirming its success in encouraging the people to practice exercises. The broadcasting of his program continued for 9 months.

1990

	In 1988 Shihan Adnan Tarsha started teaching Karate in a number of private schools. Details and photos in Camps Page

	In 1990 the founder of Kyokushin Karate master Oyama has nominated him to be the chairman of the International Karate Organization in the Middle East, but his circumstances did not allow for that and he is busy with other activities other than Karate. Also Sosai Oyama had chosen him for the second time to put his photos in the calendar of International Karate Organization for the year of 1990, which distribute on the branches of the organization in the world.

In 1990 he traveled to Lebanon and gave several Karate sessions in several sport clubs to let the students gain more experience, and to teach them the new movements and techniques of Karate. Details in Camps Page

1991

In 1991 Shihan Adnan Tarsha presented a special demonstration by his students in one of the schools. His son Muhammad presented some demonstrations.

In 1992: The first Islamic book of Adnan Tarsha was published, the title is: Prayer, Sport, and Body

One of the Pakistani publishing house asked his permission to translate the book into Urdo language.

1993

In 1993: The second Islamic book of Adnan Tarsha was published, the title is: Why Fajr Prayer? The minister of Islamic affairs Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al- Asheikh has wrote a presentation for this book. The book have been translated to other language. Details in Books Page

	In 1993 a television director from the Saudi TV requested from him to present some of his difficult and dangerous Karate demonstrations to broadcast them in a TV program, so he did a various demonstrations. In 1995 Shihan Adnan Tarsha traveled to Lebanon where he participating in refereeing the Lebanon North championship and presenting the cups and medals to the winners according to the invitation of the Lebanon branch chief.

	In 1996, because his circumstances did not allow in the past to be the Middle East Chairman of the International Karate Organization as Sosai Oyama the founder of this martial art has nominated him in 1990, he accepted to be the Middle East Advisor. He has been appointed in this position in 11/8/1996.

1997

On 13/ 7/ 1997 Shihan Adnan Tarsha was invited to attend and refereeing the tournament which took place in the city of Syr in Lebanon, he was also the chairman of the judges.

In 1997 and during his staying in Lebanon he participated in the Middle East Training Camp in Tripoli and Beirut for three days in 1-3/8/1997. Several students from some of the Arab countries participated in this camp.

1998

In 1998 Shihan Adnan Tarsha traveled to Lebanon where his schedule contained several Karate championships: The First was in Beirut. The Second one was the Lebanon North Championship in Tripoli, and his children participated in this championship as competitors and they won: Mohammad won the first place, and Abdulaziz won the second place. The Third one was the Lebanon South Championship in Saida city. The Fourth one was the North Clubs Championship in Tripoli. In these championships he presented the cups and medals to the winners. the Fifth championship is the next.
